RETIRED PELION HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL JEAN HAGGARD has been inducted into the Pelion High Hall of Fame. Haggard served as principal for 20 years.
HEATHWOOD HALL EPISCOPAL SCHOOL Intermediate/Middle School students have raised $11,000 during the 9th annual Turkey Trot in support of Harvest Hope Food Bank.

BEN LIPPEN SCHOOL has named Chip Jones as the school’s new headmaster. Jones, a 33-year veteran of Christian education, joins Ben Lippen from Presbyterian Christian School.
AIRPORT HIGH SCHOOL JROTC DRILL TEAM has won their third consecutive All Army State High School Drill Team Championship.

RICHLAND COUNCILWOMAN JOYCE DICKERSON has been installed as president of the membership arm of the National Foundation for Women Legislators.
YOUTH
PELION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS SATURN CHRISTOPHER AND ASHTON NICEWONGER have earned spots in the All-State Chorus, which is sponsored by the South Carolina Music Educators Association.

AIR FORCE AIRMAN NICHOLAS G. GERITY has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Gerald and Lori Gerity of Leesville.
AIR FORCE AIRMAN LEOPOLDO RUIZ has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Pearl Reeder and grandson of Bertha Rodriguez, both of Columbia.
ARMY PVT. DANIEL L. BURKE has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson. He is the son of Waynette Swanger of Columbia.
AIR FORCE RESERVE AIRMAN 1ST CLASS BRANDON L. WOODS has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Lester and Felicia Woods of Columbia.
ARMY NATIONAL GUARD PVT. DONALD L. KINGCADE has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson. He is the son of Donald Kingcade of Columbia.
