An 83-year-old woman was killed in a Lexington County traffic incident Monday afternoon on I-26 at mile marker 110, which is the U.S. 378 exit, according to county coroner Harry Harman.
Jacquelyn Burton of Columbia lost control of her Toyota Camry and was struck by another vehicle, Harman said. She was declared dead shortly afterwards at the Lexington Medical Center, he said.
The incident, which happened around 2:30 p.m., is under investigation by the coroners office and the S.C. Highway Patrol.
