Columbia, SC — The S.C. Foster Parent Association would like to thank everyone who donated vehicles to its On the Road Again program. This program provides transportation for foster youth who are 18 but not yet 21, actively employed and pursuing a GED or post-high school educational program. Without a vehicle, young people must rely on public transportation to get them to and from work or school. Unfortunately, public transportation is not available in many rural areas.
With all the obstacles children aging out of foster care face as they work toward becoming productive citizens, sometimes the absence of reliable transportation is the one that prevents them from succeeding. However, with reliable transportation, many beat the odds to reach independence and success.
This program is made possible through generous donations. When you donate your vehicle, your donation is tax deductible. Thanks again to all the selfless donors whose donations have made a huge difference in the lives of these young adults. If you have questions about donating your vehicle, please call Brian Marion at (803) 665-9225 and visit scfpa.com.
