CertusBank, a full-service, nationally chartered bank, has agreed to purchase Resource Financial Services Inc. of Columbia.

CONSTRUCTION

Miller-Valentine of Columbia has been nationally recognized as an Accredited Quality Contractor and for providing Excellence in Construction by Associated Builders and Contractors, which was established to promote and improve the image of construction.

GOVERNMENT

Crystal Owens, a five-year employee of the S.C. Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, has been named the Agent of the Year.

Quincy Williams, a field services network manager for the S.C. Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, has been named Employee of the Year.

HEALTH CARE

DHEC’s Matt Petrofes has been named a “public health hero” by the United Health Foundation for his efforts to improve the health of South Carolinians.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Ronnie Gregg has been named market operations director for American Newspaper Solutions’ Columbia market.

LAW

Catherine Ava Kopiec has joined Barnes Alford of Columbia as an associate. She will practice civil litigation and business and insurance defense.

MANUFACTURING

Jeffrey E. Griffin has joined W.O. Blackstone & Co. of Columbia as executive vice president for marketing and strategic planning.

REAL ESTATE

Wheeler Real Estate Investment Trust Inc. has acquired Twin City Crossing Shopping Center in Batesburg-Leesville.
