The following will be closed in observance of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

GOVERNMENT

• Federal offices will be closed Tuesday.

• Fort Jackson offices will be closed Tuesday. Some offices will close Monday for a training holiday.

• State government offices will be closed Tuesday.

• Richland County offices will be closed Tuesday; no garbage service on Tuesday. The C&D Landfill and Lower Richland Drop-Off center will be closed Tuesday.

• Lexington County offices will be closed Tuesday; Tuesday’s solid waste will be collected Wednesday.

• Kershaw County offices will be closed Tuesday; no garbage service on Tuesday.

• Columbia city offices will be closed Tuesday; garbage and recyclables scheduled for Tuesday will be picked up Wednesday.

• Forest Acres city offices will be closed Tuesday.

• Lexington town offices will be closed Tuesday; Tuesday’s solid waste will be collected Wednesday.

• West Columbia City Hall and offices will be closed Tuesday.

• Cayce city offices and town hall will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

• Irmo town offices will be closed Tuesday.

• Batesburg-Leesville offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

• Springdale town offices will be closed Tuesday.

• The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles will be closed Tuesday.

SERVICES/BANKS

• Post offices will be closed Tuesday.

• Many banks and credit unions will be closed Tuesday. Check with your branch to verify.

• SCE&G will be closed Tuesday.

• Mid-Carolina Electric will be closed Tuesday.

• Palmetto Utilities will be closed Tuesday.

• Lexington’s Joint Municipal Water and Sewer Commission offices will be closed Tuesday.

• There will be no Central Midlands RTA bus service Tuesday.

• Richland County Recreation Commission offices, recreation and community centers will close at 6 p.m. Monday and will be closed Tuesday.

LIBRARIES/MUSEUMS/

ZOO

• Richland County Library, including the main library and all branch locations, will close at 5 p.m. Monday and will be closed Tuesday.

• Lexington County Public Library System, including all branch locations, will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

• Kershaw County Library will be closed Tuesday.

• The S.C. Confederate Relic Room and Military Museum will be closed Tuesday.

The S.C. Military Museum on National Guard Road will be closed Tuesday.

Historic Columbia Foundation houses will be closed Tuesday.

THE STATE NEWSPAPER
