RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — Richland County deputies are investigating the shooting of a man during a break-in at his Harbison apartment early Sunday.

The unidentified victim said he was injured during a fight with another man who kicked in his door, deputies said.

The victim was taken to Palmetto Health Richland hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound in his lower body that is not life-threatening, deputies said.

Deputies said they later found marijuana and crack cocaine residue in the apartment and are investigating how they got there.
