Gov. Nikki Haley’s selection of Tim Scott to replace Jim DeMint as senator is a joke to most blacks. Scott said after his appointment, “Senator DeMint and I are on the same page.”

Does anyone except those who live in the Fox News bubble believe that Scott will draw any significant number of us to the Republican Party? Anyone can see that this was a token selection. We have seen this movie before starring J.C. Watts, Clarence Thomas, Michael Steele and now Tim Scott. They only look like us, but they think like Republicans and usually end up being bad for us.

So don’t be surprised when we don’t show up in numbers to join the GOP or vote for Republican candidates.
