City parks and recreation officials want Main Street Ice the man-made ice skating rink in downtown Columbia to remain open for two more weeks, but city council approval is needed.
The ice rink is supposed to close on Sunday. Parks and recreation staff have placed an item on Tuesday's City Council agenda to extended the ice rink's stay until Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 21.
The city sent out a press release earlier today announcing the extension of the ice rink's stay.
