COLUMBIA, SC — A fire Friday at the Hunters Way Apartments at 405 Percival Road has displaced the people living in 6 units, Columbia Richland Fire Department spokesman Brick Lewis said.
An early photo from the scene suggested heavy damage to one of the buildings in the complex located on Pervical Road near Forest Drive. Authorities are investigating how the blaze, which has caused an estimated $300,000 in damage, started, Lewis said.
Two people from the apartment complex were taken by emergency services to a local hospital but there was no indication that their injuries were due to the fire, Lewis said. The Red Cross was on the way to the scene early Friday evening, to offer assistance to those needing it.
