Sirens to be tested Tuesday on lower Saluda River

tflach@thestate.comJanuary 7, 2013

The annual test of emergency sirens along the lower Saluda River will occur at noon Tuesday.

It’s a yearly three-minute check of alarms that would warn of a leak in the Lake Murray dam upstream.

That will be followed at 1 p.m. by a separate one-minute test of sirens related to the V.C. Summer nuclear power plant near Jenkinsville.
