KERSHAW COUNTY, SC — One Lugoff man is dead and another faces charges after an early morning collision involving a motorcycle.

The SC Highway Patrol has charged Lowell Stewart, 27, with felony driving under the influence in the deadly wreck on Pine Grove Road at Rabon Road.

Around 4:30 a.m., Stewart's Toyota collided with a Kawasaki motorcycle operated by a 56-year-old Lugoff man whose identity has not been released by the Kershaw County Coroner's Office.

The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet but died at the scene from his injuries, Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Brent Kelly said.

The wreck remains under investigation.
