Gaston man killed while walking in road

A Gaston man was killed Friday night while walking in the middle of a road.

Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harman said Julius Presley, 56, was hit by a vehicle at about 8:20 p.m. Friday.

Presley was walking north in the middle of the road in the 3700 block of S.C. 321 in Gaston when he was struck by a vehicle also traveling north. He died at the scene from severe head and body trauma, Harmon said.

The accident is being investigated by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
