KERSHAW COUNTY, SC — Kershaw County sheriffs deputies gave chase to a motorcyclist Saturday afternoon after clocking him going 120 mph in a 55-mph zone.
When the patrol car turned on its lights and siren, the driver traveling on U.S. 521 outside Camden sped off, reaching speeds in excess of 150 mph, Sheriff Jim Matthews said in a news release.
The motorcyclist outran the deputies, who slowed down as the chase closed in on the Camden town limits, Matthews said.
But they had radioed ahead, so the motorcyclist was arrested by the S.C. Highway Patrol in Camden near patrol headquarters.
Herman Lorenzo Bulluck III, 19, of Columbia, was being held at the Kershaw County Detention Center overnight Saturday, according to the release.
