Three school improvement councils in the Midlands have been named to the state honor roll for fostering community interest in education.
The school improvement councils at C.A. Johnson in Richland 1, Richland Northeast High in Richland 2 and Blaney Elementary in Kershaw County are among 15 councils statewide receiving the honor.
Honorees will be in the running for South Carolina School Improvement Council ’s annual Dick and Tunky Riley Award for School Improvement Council Excellence. The award is named for the former U.S. Secretary of Education and S.C. governor and his late wife.
