Columbia set a record high temperature for the third day in a row Monday. The high of 81 topped the previous mark of 80 set in 1932.
Highs also were set Monday in Charleston (79) and Florence (79). Columbia set records with highs of 82 on Saturday and 78 on Sunday.
A cooling trend is expected Tuesday, with highs forecast in the middle 70s in Columbia. That’s still nearly 20 degrees warmer than normal for this time of year.
