Columbia, SC I hope Columbia’s new city manager, Teresa Wilson, does well. However, given that City Council violated the law in its selection process (“City manager hiring process hidden from public,” The State, Sunday), is Ms. Wilson lawfully assuming her position? Should someone sue the council over its violation?

And does Ms. Wilson’s acceptance of City Council’s offer even though council violated the law call into question her judgment?
