Cabela’s – a hunting, fishing and outdoor gear outfitter – said Tuesday it would open a 100,000-square-foot mega-store in Greenville next year.

The Sidney, Neb.-based company will open the store — its first South Carolina location — in spring 2014, the retailer said in a release, hiring around 234 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees.

The store will be in Magnolia Park, a newly redeveloped shopping center at I-385 and I-85 at Woodruff Road, the retailer said.

The Greenville store will be designed to “surround customers in an outdoor experience,” the retailer said.
