RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — A man was shot and left for dead in the middle of the street in a neighborhood of Leesburg Road late Tuesday night, Richland County deputies said.

Deputies found the body of 18-year-old Moses T. McKnight lying in the road at Hilo Street at Sheffey Court with a gunshot wound to his head, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts said..

McKnight, also known as “Little Moses,” was pronounced dead at the scene. The case is being investigated as a homicide, deputies said.

Investigators are questioning witnesses and the man’s acquaintances to determine what led to the shooting.
