A 19 year old Eastover man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck Wednesday morning on Reynolds Road in Richland County.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released by the Richland County Coroner’s Office, was driving a Jeep Cherokee east near Hickory Hill Road when the wreck happened around 10:45 a.m., the SC Highway Patrol said.

The Cherokee drove off the left side of the road, overcorrected to the right, overcorrected to the left again and then left the road and struck a tree, Lance Cpl. Brent Kelly said.

The driver was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown out of the Cherokee, which caught fire, Kelly said.

The incident is under investigation, he said.
