Three go missing after Columbia funeral

— Columbia police are seeking the public’s help in finding three people who went missing after attending a funeral in Columbia January 4th.

The three residents of Shreveport, Louisiana - Brady Brown, 48, his Uncle Eddie Lee Cobb, Jr., 67 and famly friend Ella Williams, 51 - left Columbia on January 7th for the approxiately 12 hour drive home, Columbia police said in a news release.

Family members told authorities Brown and his passengers planned to drive the more than 800 miles on Interstate 20, a straight shot from Columbia to Shreveport.

The three left in a 2006 beige Dodge Status (with paper tags) but haven’t been heard from since. Efforts to reach them by cell phone go into voice-mail, police said.

Police say someone used one of their cell phones on January 7 near Birmingham, Alabama. Missing persons bulletins hjave been issued in Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi.
