Leaders choose coward’s way out

Nov. 6, 2012, will long be remembered for two things:

1. Lillian McBride failed miserably in the execution of her duties as Richland County elections director.

2. The politicians elected by the residents of Richland County would later fail in their responsibility by not seeing that Ms. McBride was terminated for the debacle for which she was totally responsible.

Instead of making the hard but right decision to get rid of her, they took the coward’s way out and created a job for this incompetent person to remain on the county payroll, earning a salary in a job she would never be given if she did not work for the county controlled by her friends.

Some have said the definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing over and over, expecting a different outcome. This part of Richland County government fits that definition. By their latest actions, these spineless politicians can also show the rest of this state what a Third World or banana republic government looks like.
