COLUMBIA, SC — A man was stabbed Thursday afternoon during a fight on Decker Boulevard, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.

The stabbing occurred after a verbal altercation between two men about 4:15 p.m., department spokesman Curtis Wilson said. The man who was stabbed was transported to Palmetto Health Richland, where his condition is unknown.

Deputies arrested 49-year-old John F. Williams a short distance from the incident, Wilson said. He is being held at Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center on an attempted murder charge.
