— Charles Richard Bradberry, 33, of Columbia has been charged with molesting a 14-year-old daughter of an ex-girlfriend in Kershaw County and a 10-year-old relative in Columbia, Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews said Friday.

Columbia police arrested Bradberry on Jan. 14. He is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. Kershaw County and Columbia authorities believe Bradberry may have molested other young girls. Victims are urged to contact the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 425-1512 or the Columbia Police Department at (803) 545-3500.

In another incident, Jeremy Strickland, 19, of Columbia was charged with unlawful conduct toward a child, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. Strickland was babysitting a 2-year-old girl while her mother worked. He allegedly sent a text message to the mother apologizing for stricking the girl.

When the mother arrived home from work, the child had bruises around her face and neck, police said. The mother took the child to the sheriff’s department. Strickland turned himself in to authorities Friday and was being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center Friday afternoon.
