GASTON, SC — A couple accused of operating a mobile methamphetamine lab inside a car were arrested Tuesday, Lexington County sheriff’s deputies said.
Christopher James Doar, 27, and his wife, Emmalee Jade Doar, 25, are both charged with manufacturing methamphetamine. They were both arrested after deputies found them sitting inside a 2011 Nissan Versa parked in a stranger’s driveway on Sugar Loaf Road near Gaston. Deputies also found an operational meth lab inside the car.
Officers were sent to the house about 3:40 a.m. Tuesday after getting a call about a suspicious car in the driveway. When they got there, they saw both Christopher and Emmalee Doar sitting in the car’s front seats.
The responding officers got a whiff of a strong chemical odor from the car, and suspected the smell was coming from a meth lab inside the car. They called members off the department’s narcotics team, who found the lab.
Both Christopher and Emmalee Doar are being held at Lexington County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
