— A 57-year-old Little Mountain man was killed when he was struck by a pickup truck while walking on SC 268 in Lexington County.

The SC Highway Patrol is investigating the wreck, Sgt. Bob Beres said.

The man, identified as Jimmy M. Çaughman by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, was walking east on the highway around 6:35 p.m. when he was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Ronald Farmer, 54, also of Little Mountain, Beres said. Farmer was not injured.

The pedestrian was wearing dark clothing after sunset and walking in the roadway, Beres said. Caughman died from his injuries after being transported to the hospital, according to the coroner’s office.
