COLUMBIA, SC — Columbia police released surveillance photos of an armed robbery of the Rite Aid pharmacy at 1501 Broad River Road Monday night.
The robber who obscured his identify by wearing a surgical mask walked up to the pharmacy counter around 6 p.m. and demanded several controlled substances. He lifted his sweatshirt to show what appeared to be a handgun stuck in his waist band, witnesses said. The pharmcist complied and noone was hurt, police said in a news release.
The robber is described as a white male last seen wearing a dark-colored sweatshirt with “Appalachian State” in yellow or gold embroidary on the front. He also was wearing blue jeans, clear plastic gloves, and a light-colored baseball cap.
