Sidewalk plan would serve Rosewood school students

Published: January 30, 2013

— The S.C. Department of Transportation plans to hold a meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday to share a “safe routes to school” sidewalk plan for Rosewood Elementary students.

The plan will add a sidewalk on one side of South Walker Street, between Heyward Street and Harvard Avenue. The path has been designed to save many large trees. Some small trees will have to be removed; new ones will be planted to replace them.

The meeting is in the school auditorium. Plans will be available at the meeting.
