— A Lexington magistrate has ruled that Mega Touch Chug Monkey, Queen Bee, Crazy Bugs and several other video gaming machines are illegal gambling devices.

Lexington County sheriff’s deputies raided four bars Thursday, seizing 13 machines and $590 in cash, according to a report from the sheriff’s department. Deputies raided the bars after receiving tips about the illegal machines.

The bars raided by the sheriff’s department were:

• Anthony’s Bar on Calks Ferry Road, Lexington where detectives seized three Rush-Tel tabletop games and one Mega Touch Chug Monkey tabletop machine

• The Bar on Two Notch Road in Lexington where one Mega Touch Chug Monkey, one Mega Touch Live and one CA Nexus were seized. Detectives also seized $65.75.

• The Barn on Jim Rucker Road in Swansea where detectives took one Queen Bee machine, one Crazy Bugs machine, two Video Redemption machines and one Spin Jack machine and $517. Each of those machines were free-standing, cabinet-style machines.

• S&E Rack and Grill on Edmund Highway in West Columbia where one Mega Touch Chug Monkey and $7.50 were seized.

Lexington County Sheriff James Metts has asked anyone with information on illegal video gambling devices to call the department at (803) 785-8230 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-274-6373.
