Notebook: Region 3-2A basketball

February 4, 2013

The Region 3-2A basketball season concludes on Tuesday, and the playoff picture is almost complete.

Keenan’s boys and girls are the region’s No. 1 seed, while Fairfield Central’s boys and girls are set at No. 2. Columbia’s boys and girls are in. The Capitals boys are assured of the No. 3 seed. The Columbia and Eau Claire girls meet on Tuesday to break a tie for third place.

The youthful Eau Claire boys still have a chance, but the Shamrocks must beat Columbia and hope fourth place North Central loses to Fairfield Central. That scenario creates a tie for fourth place.

Pelion’s boys and girls and the North Central girls are out of the running.

Tuesday’s final round games: Eau Claire at Columbia, Fairfield Central at North Central, Pelion at Keenan.
