— A Beckley Road home was damaged by fire Tuesday morning.

The one person in the home when the fire started at 1921 Beckley Road, off Leesburg Road, exited safely, Columbia-Richland County Fire Department spokesman Brick Lewis said.

Crews dispatched around 11:50 a.m. arrived to find the house in flames, Lewis said.

A preliminary investigation determined the cause of the fire, which caused about $50,000 in damages, to unattended cooking, Lewis said.
