Many restaurants in the area are offering specials for Valentine’s Day, so make your plans and reservations now before it’s too late. Here are some other food-related events themed around Valentine’s Day.

Evolution through Chocolate events: Thursday, bubbly at Capital City Club and custard & chocolate pairing at Paradise Ice for First Thursday, Chocolatology at EdVenture; Feb. 9, Main St. Market at Wine Down, Devine Sidewalk Sale at Divine Massage Therapy, Yoga and Chocolate at Balance Your Yoga; Feb. 11, at Something Special, 302 Artisans, Divine Massage Therapy and Shear Indulgence; Feb. 14, Rosewood Market; Feb. 16, Vista Marketplace. Truffles are available year-round at Wine Down on Main.


Wine and Chocolate Stroll in downtown Historic Edgefield 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Pick up a “shopping passport” at any one of the participating shops and have it punched for a chance to win an over-the-top gift basket donated by local merchants and artists.


EdVenture After Dark’s Chocolatology adults-only event is slated for 7-9 p.m. Thursday at EdVenture Children’s Museum, 211 Gervais St. Chocolate enthusiasts can find their personal level of cocoa paradise at the Cocoa Cabana, paint with chocolate and craft some tasty treats at the Dip & Dab Workshop and meet a master Swiss chocolatier. Music will be provided by DJ Jay Magic and complimentary beer, wine and desserts will be served. Tickets are $25; $20 for members. “We’ll always have Paris . . . ” is a line from “Casablanca,” the most perfect love story ever to hit the silver screen. Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College is hosting a Valentine’s Day screening of the movie, starring Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, tickets $12. A champagne and dessert reception opens the evening at 7:15 p.m. with the movie starting at 8 p.m. Complimentary photo portraits will be made courtesy of Jonathan Sharpe Photography. There will also be a drawing for five winners of a “Dinner and a Movie” night featuring a gift certificate to your favorite restaurant and a pair of tickets to the Casablanca screening.
