Columbia, SC — The silence is deafening from our leaders and representatives in Richland County concerning the most recent development surrounding the voting fiasco. Four appointed members of the Voter Registration and Elections Board went against the majority of county legislators who put them on that panel and, instead of firing the individual responsible for the November election mess, decided to reward Lillian McBride with another high-paying job. A job that, as of yet, has no job description.
Our leaders seem to agree with this decision, because little comment has been offered by any of them. I’m sure they all hope this will soon just fade away. Unfortunately, in any future election in Richland County, no incumbent will get my vote. I hope my fellow citizens will follow suit. No voice — no vote.
