In his Jan. 30 guest column, “Archie Bunker’s gun policy,” Neal Jones likens gun owners to Archie Bunker yahoos. His first paragraph says 381 people are killed each year in Germany by firearms.
He fails to mention that there was a time in Germany when firearms were prohibited to Jewish people, who had no defense against a tyrannical state. The result was 8 million people exterminated by the Nazi regime that labeled them “undesirable.”
The left side of our country tries to advance its cause by name-calling and demonizing its targets. Are gun owners the new “undesirables”? Rev. Jones makes a strong case for public ownership of firearms.
