RICHLAND COUNTY, SC — Two homes, one vacant and the other occupied, were hit by fire Thursday evening, the Columbia-Richland County Fire Department said.
The vacant home on Kelly Mill Road between Bookman and Bombing Range roads was fully engulfed in flames with fire crews arrived around 5 p.m., spokesman Brick Lewis said. The fire then spread to a second home on the same lot, which was occupied by three individuals. That house was smoking and burning heavily from the back.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, but the residents are now displaced.
Kelly Mill Road was closed from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. while firefighters worked on the home.
The fire is being investigated by the county fire marshal’s office.
No damage estimates were immediately available.
