Published: February 13, 2013

Fort Jackson commander Brig. Gen. Bryan T. Roberts hosted Media Day at the Army’s largest basic training facility on Monday. Reporters and photographers were shown several different training exercises from firing machine guns at a weapons range to clearing buildings and rescuing hostages. Fort Jackson trains about 75,000 soldiers each year.

Two hundred and twenty soldiers from 3rd Battalion 60th Infantry Regiment took part in an exercise at Fort Jackson's Urban Assault Course.
