COLUMBIA, SC — Columbia police are searching for a man who robbed a credit union Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect made threats and indicated he had a gun during the robbery at Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union in the 1300 block of Washington Street, said Jennifer Timmons, a Columbia Police Department spokeswoman. The robbery happened at 2:50 p.m. The suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, Timmons said.
The man is considered armed and dangerous.
The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 50 and 60. He is about six feet tall and slender with salt and pepper hair and a silver mustache, Timmons said. He was wearing a dark green coat with a tan collar and a tan ball cap that has a blue brim. He also wore silver-framed glasses.
