After a pair of indecent exposures Sunday, Columbia Police are asking potential victims to try to get a good look at a flashers faces before dialing 911.
The advisory comes after a woman and 10-year-old girl were flashed in separate incidents about 2 hours apart Sunday afternoon, Columbia Police SVU Investigator Stephan Narewski said. In the first incident, the woman was shopping at the TJ Maxx store on Harbison Boulevard when a man walked over to her with a cutting board in front of him. The suspect then moved in a way that exposed his genitals. Later that afternoon, in a separate incident, a man exposed himself to a 10-year-old on Main Street before getting away.
Narewski said they are investigating the incidents, which arent thought to be connected.
He said that if a person becomes a flashing victim, they should take a photo of the persons face if possible to help police identify the suspect. If you dont have a camera or phone handy, he said, get a good look at the persons face so police can make a composite sketch.
Id get a good look at the face, he said.
