Davidson routs Cougars

— Jake Cohen scored a career-high 32 points, and Davidson pulled away in the second half for a 75-59 victory over the College of Charleston on Thursday.

Nik Cochran added 14 points for the Wildcats (18-7, 13-1 Southern Conference), who have won nine in a row and are 15-1 when scoring 70 or more points.

Andrew Lawrence and Trent Wiedeman scored 10 each for the Cougars (18-8, 10-4), whose six-game winning streak was snapped.

SAMFORD 40, WOFFORD 33

At Birmingham, Ala., Clide Geffrard Jr. scored 17 points and the Bulldogs held the Terriers (10-17, 4-10 SoCon) to a season-low in points.

CHATTANOOGA 83, FURMAN 49

At Chattanooga, Tenn., Gee McGhee scored 16 points, and the Mocs pulled away in the second half to beat the Paladins (6-18, 3-10 SoCon).

GEORGIA SOUTHERN 78, THE CITADEL 57

At Charleston, Cleon Roberts scored 20 points, and the Eagles led by 18 at halftime to roll past the Bulldogs (6-18, 3-11 SoCon).

WOMEN

NO. 7 MARYLAND 75, CLEMSON 45

At College Park, Md., Nikki Dixon had 13 points to lead the Tigers (6-18, 2-11 ACC), who lost for the second time this season to the Terrapins (20-4, 11-2).
