Mignon L. Clyburn will be sworn in for her second term as a member of the Federal Communications Commission today at Charleston City Hall.
Charleston native Clyburn, the daughter of Emily Clyburn and U.S. Rep. James E. Clyburn, D-Columbia, was confirmed by the U.S. Senate, following her re-nomination by President Barack Obama, for a second, final term on the commission to conclude in June 2017.
I thank President Obama and the members of the United States Senate for their confidence in me, and I look forward to working with my FCC colleagues to further improve and smartly tailor our nations communications policies, Clyburn said in a statement.
