ORANGEBURG — An Orangeburg County bicyclist was seriously injured by a pickup truck that fled the scene, the S.C. Highway Patrol reported Sunday.

The hit-and-run happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 178 near Weatherford Road.

The suspected vehicle is described as a 2001-2005 large Chevrolet pickup, either an Avalanche or Tahoe model. It may be damaged in the right front area around the headlight, the patrol said.
