Golf: Clemson men start strong in Puerto Rico

At El Grande, Puerto Rico, Billy Kennerly fired a career round 5-under 67 to lead individuals and give No. 19 Clemson a 7-under 281 team score and a third-place standing after the first round of the Puerto Rico Classic, the Tigers’ first event of the spring season. The Tigers are two shots behind first-place Alabama and one shot behind Oklahoma in the 15-team field that includes six top-25 teams. The tournament continues today and finishes Tuesday.
