LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC An 84-year-old Gaston woman early Monday morning died after being trapped in a burning house.

Helen G. Eaglin of Gaston died at her home after firefighters were unable to rescue her from the burning house, according to a report from the Lexington County Coroner’s office.

Eaglin’s home caught fire around 1:40 a.m. The cause remains under investigation by the Lexington County Fire Service and the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
