Columbia, SC — I am irate that a federal judge approved a settlement that would allow a surcharge to a bill when consumers use a credit card at a business. On Jan. 27, retailers were given the ability — should they choose to — to tack a surcharge of up to 4 percent onto your tab if you want to pay with a credit card.
If that sounds like a lot, you’re right.
