Thursday: US shouldn’t arm, aid Egypt

Published: February 20, 2013

— Of all the craziness that has come out of Washington during this administration, the most ludicrous is sending 20 F-16 fighter jets, 200 Abrams tanks and $1.5 billion of taxpayer money to Egypt, a country that doesn’t even have a functioning government.

This deal was agreed to with then-president Hosni Mubarak, a brutal dictator, but a friend to America and Israel, who helped to maintain some semblance of stability in the region.

We have an entirely different situation with Mohammed Morsi, an avowed enemy of the United States and Israel, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and an adherent of Sharia law. His hands are covered with the blood of thousands of innocent people.

This treaty should be abrogated immediately. We have no obligation to honor it.
