RICHLAND 1: Artwork by Richland 1 art teachers will be on exhibit through March 3 at the Tapps Art Center, 1644 Main St. The community is invited to stop in to browse the personal works of some of Columbias talented art educators. Participating artists/educators include John Johnson, Lower Richland High School; Mary Hendrix, A.C. Flora High School; Katrina Hampton Alcorn/Gibbes middle schools; David Vandiver, Dreher High School; Oliver Williams, Lower Richland High School; Janice Johnson, Eau Claire High School; Sharlyn Turlington, Hand Middle School; Jay Watkins, Keenan High School; Jen Gorlewski , A.C. Flora High School; Deborah Lengel Sandel Elementary School; Danielle Province, Burnside/Burton-Pack elementary schools; Joy Pouncey, St. Andrews Middle School; Sarah McNeely, W.A. Perry/Sanders middle schools; Kyle Smith, Southeast Middle School; Scot Hockman, SC State Department of Education; and Cynthia Bowie, South Kilbourne Elementary School. The teachers exhibit was organized by the districts lead visual art teacher Jen Gorlewski. Tapps is open Tuesday - Saturday, 10 a.m. 7 p.m. Shown here at the show's grand opening are Nancy Pope, Richland 1s visual and performing arts coordinator; Willie McGrady, the districts executive director of school administration; and Sara McNeely, art teacher at W.
