The 24th annual Harambee Festival Weekend Celebration, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at Benedict College. The event features activities for children, live performances, art exhibits, workshops and health screenings. Free admission.

Columbia Urban League’s 2013 Young and Gifted Awards, noon at Brookland Baptist Church, 1066 Sunset Blvd., West Columbia A celebration of Black History Month and the state’s largest recognition of African American achievement. Wal-Mart’s $125,000 check presentation to the South Carolina Urban League affiliates will be used to assist those on public support in finding jobs.

“We Shall Not be Moved,” a commemoration of student activism in Columbia and the 50th anniversary of Edwards v. South Carolina kicks off at 10:45 a.m. at Zion Baptist Church, 801 Washington St. with a church service.
