“The Great Kings of Africa Exhibit” will be on display all month in the Ponder Fine Arts Gallery at Benedict College. The exhibit is free and open to the public. Info: (803) 705-4463

Black History Month Celebration, 10 a.m. at the New Light Beulah Baptist Church, 1330 Congaree Road, Hopkins. The keynote speaker will be Major Darryl Kelly, the ROTC instructor at Lower Richland High School. Open to the public. Info: (803) 783-2050

The exhibit “At the Crossroads of Freedom and Equality: the Emancipation Proclamation and the March on Washington will be held on the first floor of the Price House, the corner of Broad and York Streets, Camden, 1-4 p.m. . “Roses and Revolutions: Revisited,” 4:30-6 p.m.at the C.A. Johnson High School Auditorium, 2249 Barhamville Road. Presented by the Columbia Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the program is a recording of poetry, drama and song produced by the sorority in 1975. Free. Info: (803) 735-1444

African-American History event “Called to Greatness: Past and Present,” 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church, 2003 Charleston Hwy., Cayce, The event, hosted by Busbee Creative Arts Academy, Davis Early Childhood for Technology and Taylor Elementary School, features singing, dancing, stepping, acting, artwork and the Bible Way Praise Dancers. Septima P. Clark Film Showcase and Panel Discussion, 6 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Fine Arts/Humanities Center Little Theater at Benedict College. The showcase is presented by the Department of Social Sciences and Criminal Justice and Historical Studies. Info: (803) 705-4596

March 3

“We Shall Not be Moved,” a commemoration of student activism in Columbia and the 50th anniversary of Edwards v. South Carolina kicks off at 10:45 a.m. March 3 at Zion Baptist Church, 801 Washington St. with a church service. The reunion and roundtable discussion will be from 3-5 p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.
