Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman was injured after his car struck a parked tractor trailer near Cayce Saturday evening.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said Harman was driving in fog with low visibility on Commerce Drive when the accident occurred at 7:15 p.m. The highway patrol said Harman’s Mercury ran off the right side of the road, hitting a parked tractor trailer.
Harman, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated at Palmetto Health Richland and kept overnight. But the coroner’s office had no information Sunday night on whether Harman had been released.
Harman issued a press release Sunday, in which he said he was driving home from a funeral visitation at Southland Memorial Gardens.
No charges have been issued.
