In Austin L. Hughes’ Feb. 14 column, he provided a clear and understandable explanation of the error of viewing evolution and religious faith as mutually exclusive. He did a great service to help readers understand the difference.
The media and the public in general have been linking evolution with atheism for too long, and no one seems to take the time to explore this. I was taught in Catholic schools in the 1960s, and the good nuns taught evolution as a probable occurrence. It mattered less how our bodies came to be, but at some point God breathed a soul into us human beings.
I believe in God, and I believe in evolution. God can create however he wants.
