Columbia, SC — If South Carolina is offering incentives to get a European lumber producer to begin operations in Rowesville, in direct competition with small sawmills in exactly the same, narrowly defined field (“Giant sawmill stokes dispute,” Feb. 17), it seems clear to me that the only fair thing to do is offer the same incentives, in proportion to their sizes, to those existing small businesses.
